IQLA organizes regular conferences under the name 'QUALICO'. In IQLA's early days the intervals between conferences were variable, but the aim for several years now has been to hold one every two years.
The next QUALICO will be held in Tokyo from Thursday, September 10th to Sunday, 13th 2020.
In December 2007, the IQLA Council decided to support relevant local and national conferences under the auspices of IQLA, which means that the Association identifies itself with the organizers, the contents, the scholars and the participants (who are to a large part IQLA members), and that it takes an active part in them. These congresses have high standards and deal with a genuine and comprehensive topic of quantitative linguistics, or are organized in honor of famous scholars in this field. Requests to organize conferences sub auspiciis IQLA may be directed to any member of the IQLA Council.
In the recent years, there have been a number of conferences organized in co-operation with the IQLA (Trier, Graz) and two editions of the IQLA-GIAT Summer School in Quantitative Analysis of Textual Data (Padua).
