This covers the range of synchronic and diachronic subdomains of “theoretical” linguistics (phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics etc.) and “applied” linguistics (sociolinguistics, historical linguistics, cognitive linguistics, pragmatics, text analysis, quantitative stylistics etc.). The introduction of mathematical and statistical concepts and methods from the natural sciences, physics, and cognitive science is particularly encouraged. A particular focus is the further theoretical foundation and empirical analysis of linguistic laws as like Zipf’s, Menzerath-Altmann’s law, Piotrovskij law and others.

For further information, including a guide for authors and details for manuscript submission, go to the journal website.

Indexed in Web of Science and Scopus.

Publication Frequency: 4 issues per year (since 1/2008)

Publisher: Routledge Taylor & Francis Group, London

ISSN: 0929-6174, eISSN: 1744-5035

Peer Review Policy: All articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and refereeing by two anonymous referees.

JQL and IQLA: The Journal of Quantitative Linguistics was founded in 1994.
